We explain how AI differs from traditional systems and how the V-model for validation needs to be adapted to address AI-specific issues. In the testing phase, it is important to remember that conventional computer-based systems are strictly deterministic, so the expected results of tests are known exactly. In contrast, the results of AI applications can only be considered statistically, so that tests can be compared with studies.
