Lab IT compliance using the example of the validation of a laboratory information management system (LIMS)
In the regulated environment of the life sciences industry (pharmaceuticals and medical technology), legal requirements mean that computer-aided systems must be validated and IT infrastructure and devices must be qualified if they fail to fulfill their intended purpose, which can have a negative impact on the quality or even the effectiveness and safety of the product. The validated or qualified status must be guaranteed throughout the entire life cycle. This poses a particular challenge in a heterogeneous laboratory environment.
In our webinar, we will present this challenge in the laboratory environment and show what needs to be considered, particularly with a focus on the validation of a laboratory information management system. We will provide an overview of the system landscape in the test laboratory, discuss the various qualification and validation levels and demonstrate a possible solution using the example of the laboratory information management system.
