In the regulated environment of the life sciences industry (pharmaceuticals and medical technology), legal requirements require computer-based systems to be validated and IT infrastructure and devices to be qualified, the non-fulfilment of which can negatively influence the quality or even the effectiveness and safety of the product. The validated or qualified state must be guaranteed throughout the entire life cycle. In the heterogeneous laboratory environment, this is a particular challenge.

In our web session, we will present this challenge in the laboratory environment and, with a focus on the validation of a chromatography data system, show what needs to be considered. We will focus on the classification and structuring of computer system validation, IT infrastructure qualification, equipment qualification and method validation and show a possible solution using the example of the chromatography data system.
